The Cycle of Paintings "Following the Records" ... On vast, most often, golden parchments, he has drawn various marks, forms carrying symbols whose signification we recognize (a circle, a cross, a triangle, a quadrangle, a star...), or we're just deciphering the meaning. Every distinctive mark represents a definite form to the cognizance of the world. A circle is a mark of authentic simplicity and first-rate acme of perfection... A circle combined with a form of a quadrangle evokes an idea of movement and change of order. He has made plain forms by his own creative impulse aiming to a mark as a common denominator of phenomena. His expression is metaphorical, meanings and radiations of symbols continually interweave... An aesthetic enthusiasm, emotions, thoughts, drama, belief that painting is a bearer of existential messages are dominant creative characteristic of Mirko Kovačević.
